Better Homes & Gardens recently asked Nate, the No Nonsense Plumber, to help them find the best showerhead to create a spa-like bathroom.
Nate’s recommendation to them, and to any homeowner who wants to upgrade their shower experience, is to look for quality construction and a spray pattern.
“It’s very important to talk about spray patterns and expectations,” said Nate. “Some people like a powerful showerhead that feels great and really penetrates the hair. Others want water falling on them and no feeling of penetrating water. Still, others want a spray that is massaging. Finding the right spray pattern for you is going to be key regardless of brand or quality. Many heads offer ways to achieve different patterns from the same head, and that’s usually a decent compromise.”
In terms of go-to brands, Nate recommends Delta, Kohler, Moen, Waterpik, and Wolverine Brass for quality.
What should you expect to pay? A baseline, no-name-value head can be less than $10. A decent water pic starts at around $20, and then it goes up from there.
